Foundation for National Park and Wildlife
Kingsmede have partnered with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, to improve our environment by planting native trees in bushfire affected areas.
Our tenants are helping us to aid the restoration of Australia’s native and unique landscape in the years to come. For every new space leased we pledge to plant one tree per employee.
This provides funding to FNPW to plant seedlings in bushfire recovery nurseries, with the goal to plant one million trees across Australia by 2025.
Kolling Institute Bridging Medical Reasearch and Health
Kingsmede has proudly supported research at the Kolling Institute, contributing to the renal research team’s overarching goal of improving outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease.
The Institute brings together a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team focused on diagnosing, preventing and treating kidney disease, while improving the standard of care delivered to the community.
Research supported by Kingsmede has helped advance early-stage therapies and has now attracted $1.2M in funding from AstraZeneca, demonstrating how early support can translate into meaningful scientific and commercial impact.

HOW?
- By funding one of the world’s leading research teams based in Sydney.
THE RESEARCH PROJECT
- To grow kidney organoids from cells excreted in the urine of patients. This has already been achieved.
- Drugs exist that can slow kidney failure, but the result differs depending on the type of kidney failure.
- These organoids will be used to test medications to show which is best for each patient as individual responses differ.
- This pioneering form of testing will require regulatory approval but should be faster as the medications are not being tested on people until a result on the organoid can be proven.
LATEST ADVANCEMENT: HUMANISED GENETIC RESEARCH MODEL
Researchers have developed an advanced pre-clinical model by inserting a small segment of human DNA into a mouse after removing the corresponding mouse gene. This enables scientists to study how potential drugs interact with human-specific genetic pathways in a controlled environment.
This work is supporting the development of new therapies aimed at improving kidney function, protecting heart health, and enhancing insulin sensitivity in patients with diabetes — accelerating the pathway toward safer and more effective treatments.
